Communication and Theatre
Tim Good practices and writes about experimental and interactive performance. He works to integrate techniques from Lessac voice and body work (Kinesensics), Pedagogy and Theatre of the Oppressed of Augusto Boal and Paulo Freire, The Living Theatre, and Viola Spolin, toward Applied Theatre contexts. He hosts the annual Lessac Training and Research Institute Summer Intensive of voice and movement at 天美传媒, and is a Certified Lessac Trainer. He offers team-building and problem-solving workshops integrating these four approaches for community organizations, schools, public libraries, and Servicio en las Americas. He has presented papers and workshops for The Lessac Training and Research Institute, The Association for Theatre in Higher Education, American Society for Theatre Research, American College Theatre Festival, The National Communication Organization, the Cooperstown Symposium on Baseball and American Culture, the Mid America Theatre Conference, the Popular Culture Association, and the World Universities Forum in Lisbon, Portugal. Professional credits also include work in scenery, lighting, directing, producing, and stage management in New York, Boston, Florida, Wisconsin, Chicago, Indianapolis, and Germany. He has been published in Theater Journal, Theatre/Practice, Beat Drama, Play with Purpose: Lessac Kinesensics in Action, and Cooperstown Symposium on Baseball and American Culture Anthology. B.A. Butler University, M.A. Emerson College, Ph.D. University of Wisconsin-Madison. He is Professor of Communication and Theatre at 天美传媒 in Greencastle, Indiana, where he teaches African and Diaspora theatre, Latin American theatre, performance theory, theatre history, acting, directing, voice and movement, and theatre production and design. He is proud to be a Posse Mentor (Chicago), and is Affiliated Faculty in Africana Studies and Latin American and Caribbean Studies.
