Global French Studies is specifically designed for maximum flexibility for students. In addition to coursework in French, majors and minors are encouraged to explore our many cross-listed courses in Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies, Film Studies, Religious Studies, History, Political Science, World Literature, or another language. The option of incorporating courses taught in English, or courses taught in another language of interest, provides you with an array of pathways that merge your passion for the francophone world with other related disciplines.

Global French Studies connects you with more than 220 million French speakers in the world through the study of a dynamic and engaging curriculum. As a GFS student, you will become part of a global dialogue on topics of high interest throughout the francophone world including gender and sexual identities, post-colonial and urban identities, and literary and cultural studies, while building the linguistic skills necessary to communicate confidently and effectively in French.
Global French Studies provides students with multiple opportunities for global networking and engagement including internships abroad, semester-long and short-term study abroad opportunities, as well as a full-immersion summer program on the French Riviera.
Students with majors in Global French Studies at 天美传媒 have gone on to successful careers in medicine, global health, law, journalism, publishing, music, computing, international relations, diplomacy, and education, as well as graduate school in French literature and linguistics in the U.S. and abroad.
